Bangkok and Dried Flowers

With all the hot weather we have been having across Australia, what better excuse to stay indoors and scrap. I am enjoying working with the new Bangkok stencil, I love all the curves. AZZA showcased the lovely layout below by Sue Talbot. Sue has used the papers and sketch sheet that were released with this Studio.

With this release there were two stamps sets with matching dies. Having the dies makes it so much easier and purchasing the set as a bundle you save 10%.

The layout above is a double vertical page created with the Bangkok stencil. I have used the Dried Flowers embossing folder on both the patterned and the plain paper. This gives a lovely effect and I am not adding too much more to the page. The embossing folder is quite delicate on the page, it is ever so pretty. The way I have cut the page, one of the photos on the back page shows when the layout is closed, and the bouquet of flowers shows when the page is both open and closed.

I created the card below for a class based on an AZZA instruction. I used the stamp and die set and the embossing folder. The strip of embossing is raised with 3D mousse (Foam) to keep the card standing up. The small words are part of a Sentiment stamp available in our online shop: azzaworld.com.au

I created a second card using the broader Washi tape, this release there were two sizes of Washi Tape, a 40mm tape was added to the range. I cut out a square of white card that the stamp would fit on, ran a few strips of the tape across the card then stamped and cut out the image. This saves me colouring in the image. It will also then match the strip on the bottom of the card that holds it open. This is a fun little card that, when not standing up, is the normal 10 x 15cm size so fits in a regular envelope.

Heather Fields in Queensland created this beautiful layout below for a special photo. This, once again, shows how AZZA stencils can be use with one or many photos on the page. Heather has used both embossed and plain paper on the page, the plain paper always gives a lighter balance on the page. She has created the most beautiful bouquet with the dies above and the Dried Flower stickers. Heather has completed her decoration with the AZZA Resin dots, Glitter tape and cord. The little disc is a wax seal, AZZA Australia do not sell these but if you are interested in looking into trying this decoration out do talk to your consultant. These can be ordered in for you.

Jill in Victoria shared this lovely page with us, using the Bangkok stencil, Dried Flowers stamps and incorporating the AZZA Sticker circles and the Dot/Writer pen to complete her decoration on the page. This stencil lends itself to lovely inking or chalking on the page. Jill has also used a strip of the Washi Tape highlighted above.

Sue Talbot brought in the older AZZA Lace decorations to pair up with the die cuts. The colours lend themselves to the photos on the page. The paper is ‘Floral’ with Sage green and burgundy tones on the other side.

As you know, I am creating a 25 x 25 album for my sister-in-law so here is the page created with the new stencil. I used a normal 10 x 15cm photo for this layout.

Today I came across a beautiful double page on Facebook created by Lucienne Leclercq and just had to include it in my blog. It is such an elegant page. Lucienne has used a single page that sits inside a 30 x 60 (double) AZZA page. This layout was based on a model by Laurence Chabbey.

Having shown you layouts with a single photo to the lovely interactive page above, a mini album can also be created using the newly released Bangkok stencil. Instructions can be found in the latest Scrap & Moi #70 which will be on sale in Australia in March. I couldn’t upload the video but pop along to my Facebook page and you can view it there. I can’t wait to get going on one. The beautiful label dies are so versatile on all page for titles or journalling.

A few more cards to show you – cards by Roz and Marie Laure using the decoration products.

It’s not all about the new products. Here are a few layouts with Auckland and Washington for inspiration. Heather Fields created the layout below based on a model by Laurence Chubby using the AZZA Washington stencil and the Graphical Moments decoration products.

Created by Heather Fields, Queensland.

I created a simple double page for my daughter’s album using the same products as Heather above. For those dog lovers out there, AZZA still have the lovely paper with paw prints on it in stock. It is an older release so once sold we cannot get any more in. I didn’t use it on this layout as I had run out.

The last page to show you is also a simple one, I used the AZZA Auckland stencil, Ocean paper and one of the easy to use words off the AZZA figure word sheets. If you google the word ‘words’ in our online shop all the stamps, dies and figure sheets will pop up for you to choose from. This layout was a quick one to put together getting 6 photos onto the page.

That should be more than enough for a little inspiration.

Happy scrappin’
